GFL Environmental Inc. seeks an experienced Roll Off Driver to operate heavy collection equipment and perform daily safety inspections. You will collect residential waste and recycling, adhere to route schedules, and maintain vehicle cleanliness while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive operational standards.
• Valid CDL (DZ or AZ) with clean abstract and CVOR is required.
• Strong attendance record and flexibility for early starts and overtime.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or completion of trucking school.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Roll Off truck along assigned routes.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily and complete logs.
• Collect residential waste and recycling per schedule and safety rules.
• Operate hydraulic and compaction systems correctly to avoid damage.
• Report mechanical issues, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
• Maintain high route productivity, strong customer service, and clean vehicles.
• Collaborate with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors to support daily operations.

Requirements

• Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or AZ) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.


• Driving Experience: Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).


• Equipment Operation: Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.


• Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.


• Reliability: Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safe Fleet Operation: Safely operate a Roll Off truck along assigned routes.


• Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs and paperwork.


• Curbside Collection: Collect residential waste and recycling materials in strict accordance with route schedules and corporate safety protocols.


• System Operations: Skillfully operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.


• Reporting & Maintenance: Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.


• Service Quality: Maintain high route productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.


• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.


• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.


• Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
