Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Roll-off Driver to join the team in Edmonton, AB. The role involves safely collecting waste from customer sites and transporting it to disposal facilities on a Tue-Sat shift, with emphasis on courteous service and operational safety.

Key duties include performing pre/post-trip inspections, documenting route activity, and operating trucks and related equipment. Must meet CDL/First Aid/H2S Alive preferences and maintain detailed service records.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License. Class 1 preferred.
• First aid and H2S Alive Ticket preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more vehicle types with both automatic and standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables on a collection route.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to prevent driver-induced mechanical failures.
• Follow all safety standards and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed.
• May be required to complete route observations and report findings to supervisor.

GFL Environmental is looking for a Roll-off Driver to join our team in Edmonton, AB! The Roll-Off Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers across multiple lines of businesses. The Driver will collect waste from customer sites and transport to post-collection facilities for proper disposal. This position has a shift schedule of Tuesday-Saturday. Requirements

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License. Class 1 preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate one or more vehicle types with both automatic and standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables on a collection route. Route may vary daily based on service needs.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.
• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed.
• May be needed to complete route observations on all routes on a pre-determined basis, document findings and provide report to immediate supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the truck and its components and the basic maintenance Requirements: for safe operation
• Ability to control operations of equipment; maneuvering truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances of approximately 120 feet or more
• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques.
