Job summary

407 ETR Highway 407 ETR is seeking a Shift Lead in Operations to support the Highway Operations Leadership Team in maintaining road surfaces, signage, illumination, drainage and traffic guidance systems to MTO standards.

The role requires rotating shifts, weekend on-call, and ability to work in all weather conditions. The candidate should have 5+ years in road construction or maintenance, a DZ license, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in construction or road maintenance.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Valid DZ driver's licence or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Engage and train staff on signs, illumination, drainage and traffic systems, with required licences.
• Plan, coach and mentor staff; ensure work follows policies.
• Coordinate winter and summer road maintenance and storm response.
• Ensure contractor work meets contract specs and safety standards.
• Respond to highway incidents and spills.
• Deliver weekly safety toolbox talks.
• Collect asset data and manage inspections.
• Assist with shift scheduling, traffic plans and performance appraisals.
• Other duties as assigned.
