Job summary

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies in Fernie Alpine Resort is seeking a Seasonal Road Crew member. You will be responsible for snow removal, road maintenance, and basic vehicle checks to keep access safe and reliable for guests during winter.

The role offers perks such as resort-wide access with an RCR pass, discounts on lodging, lessons, food and beverage, and employee events. A driver’s license is required, and Class 3 with air brake is an asset.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Able to work alone or in a team.
• Willing to work night shifts, early mornings, and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Class 3 license with air brake is an asset but not required.
• Reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Snow removal and maintenance of FAR roads, parking and utilities after snow falls.
• Maintain and remove large snow banks from lots, plaza, and road sides for drainage.
• Perform basic vehicle checks and maintenance.
• Install and maintain equipment chains.
• Report equipment problems to Vehicle Maintenance department.
• Follow Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook policies.
• Follow Safety Management Program procedures and Injury Management/Return-to-Work guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as applicable.

You Will

• Be responsible for snow removal and maintenance of FAR roads / parking / utilities in a timely manner after snow falls
• Be responsible for maintaining and removing large snow banks from lots, plaza, and road sides to ensure proper drainage
• Be responsible to ensure all basic vehicle checks and maintenance is being done
• Be responsible for installation and maintenance of equipment chains
• Report any equipment problems to the Vehicle Maintenance department
• Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
• Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
• Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
• Perform other tasks and duties that are applicable

You Have

• Confidence and efficiency in operating all resort equipment (grader, loader, bobcat, gravel trucks, Bulldozers and snowcats)
• The ability to work alone or in a team environment and are reliable
• Willingness to work shifts - both nighttime, early mornings, and weekends
• A valid driver’s license required
• A Class 3 license with air brake endorsement is an asset but not required
• A reliable personal vehicle

Compensation And Benefits

• Competitive wage: $18.25-19.00/hour
