Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Operating Room Charge RN to lead a surgical team in the Robotics Service Line. This full-time role emphasizes professional accountability, mentorship, and adherence to best practice standards.

You will supervise perioperative staff, coordinate care for a sub-specialty group, and support development of team members while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. RN with 2+ years OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with 2+ years acute care or Interventional/Perioperative experience.
• BLS required; ACLS if department requires.
• CNOR preferred or RN Certification in related field.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in caring for a sub-specialty group of patients with strong managerial skills.
• Acts as a role model for nursing team and mentor.
• Accountability and development according to best practice standards from a national specialty organization.
• Supports and shares information across the team; serves as mentor and resource.
• Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.

Position Details

• Location: St. Joseph's Women's Hospital 3030 West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL 33607
• Status: Full-Time
• Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• On Call: Yes
• Always in person

Summary

The Operating Room Charge RN responsibilities include:

• Proficient in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• Acts as a mentor and resource expert, supports and shares organizational information to all team members
• Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

For this position, we strongly prefer at least 2 years RN experience in the Operating Room. Charge or Service Line Coordinator experience preferred. This position is a Service Line Coordinator role focused on the Robotics Service Line in the Operating Room. Strong robotics experience is preferred.
