Job summary

Unity Health Toronto is seeking a Family Birthing Centre Registered Nurse (RN) to work in both labour and delivery and postpartum units. The RN will provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care, advocate for wellness, and collaborate with an inter-professional team.

The role requires obstetric/postpartum experience and current CNO registration. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, leadership in patient care, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BLS certificate required.
• Recent Intrapartum and Postpartum experience.
• Experience with level 1 and level 2 maternity patients in an LDRP model preferred.
• Obstetrics/Perinatal Certificate required within 3 years of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certificate required within 6 months of hire.
• Breastfeeding Certificate required within 6 months of hire.
• Fetal Health Surveillance Course within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care in labour, delivery and postpartum.
• Establish therapeutic relationships and collaborate with inter-professional care teams.
• Coordinate and communicate patient care activities and discharge planning.
• Participate in hospital committees and contribute to nursing practice excellence.
