Job summary

Jobtailor in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a capable Retail Supervisor to assist in daily cannabis store operations and to stand in for the Store Manager when needed.

You will lead staff, drive sales, ensure policy and health & safety compliance, and manage inventory with a strong service focus on customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• CannSell certification is required.
• Police background check is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail, cannabis preferred.
• Demonstrated sales and service orientation.
• First Aid certification is an asset.
• Ability to train and motivate staff and lead by example.
• Strong time management and written/verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to store management in daily operations.
• Oversee responsibilities of Store Manager in their absence.

Job description

• Provide assistance to store management in supervising and facilitating the daily operations of the store
• Oversee the responsibilities of the Store Manager in the absence of SM or ASM
• Assist in the delivery of key personnel management when on shift and resolve customer service issues as needed
• Provide direction, guidance, and instruction to all store associates
• Ensure store conditions are consistently upheld to established standards
• Assist in ensuring staffing levels adequately meet business needs when requested
• Act as the sales and customer service leader/role model in the absence of SM/ASM
• Greet and assist customers while modeling exemplary conduct
• Ensure company policies and relevant legislation are consistently adhered to by all staff
• Handle customer complaints and escalates them as necessary
• Ensure health, safety, and security regulations and standards are met on shift
• Achieve sales targets and store-level KPIs
• Ensure employees on shift actively pursue sales goals
• Oversee and assist in inventory management and be accountable for inventory processes on shift

Requirements

• Must have valid CannSell to work in a retail cannabis store.
• Must have or be able to successfully complete a Police Background Check.
• Demonstrated sales and service orientation required
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in the retail industry required - Cannabis industry preferred
• A valid First Aid certification is considered an asset
• Excellent time management and prioritizing skills required
• Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff required
• Skills to monitor and lead by example as required
• Basic office administration skills required
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
• Highly effective teamwork skills
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization
