Job summary

Sobeys in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Financial Analyst, Operations to join our on-site finance team. This full-time role provides financial analysis and decision support to the Manager and Director of Finance Operations, District Operators, and Store Operators/Franchisees.

You will perform analyses, support forecasting and budgeting, prepare reports in SAP, Longview and BW, and work with cross-functional groups to identify cost-saving opportunities while adhering to GAAP and IFRS standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business or related field with 2+ years experience, or a diploma with 4+ years experience.
• Finance experience in corporate operations is an asset.
• Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel (Advanced).
• Experience in a Retail environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex financial analysis.
• Make suggestions to improve functional area processes.
• Assist in forecasting, targeting and budgeting process.
• Prepare/maintain analytical reports in systems (SAP, Longview and BW) and communicate results.
• Analyze capital investment opportunities as required.
• Perform administrative tasks, as required.
• Work with cross-functional groups to identify opportunities to reduce costs.
• Adhere to GAAP and IFRS and CEO/CFO Certification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support evolving business needs and growth initiatives.
• Participate in projects as assigned.
