Job summary

Sobeys is a leading Canadian grocery retailer seeking a Financial Analyst, Operations for the Stellarton location. This full-time, on-site role supports budgeting, forecasting and cost control, with exposure to SAP, BW reporting and cross-functional initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a business degree (or diploma with experience), strong analytical and communication skills, and advanced Excel. Retail experience is an asset; GAAP/IFRS knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business and minimum 2 years relevant experience or Diploma with minimum 4 years relevant experience.
• Finance experience in corporate operations is an asset.
• Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex analysis.
• Make suggestions to improve functional area processes.
• Assist in forecasting, targeting and budgeting process.
• Prepare/maintain analytical reports in SAP, Longview and BW and communicate results.
• Analyze capital investment opportunities as required.
• Perform administrative tasks, as required.
• Work with cross-functional groups to identify opportunities to reduce costs.
• Adhere to GAAP and IFRS and CEO/CFO Certification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support evolving business needs and growth initiatives.
• Participate in projects as assigned.
