Job summary

Dollarama in Hamilton, Ontario seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily retail operations, drive customer satisfaction, and achieve sales goals. This role acts as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager, overseeing staff, merchandising, and safety.

The ideal candidate brings at least two years of retail experience with supervisory exposure, strong leadership, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of retail experience.
• At least two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Open availability including day, evening, weekend.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with operations and staff management.
• Support merchandising, stocking, and daily shipments.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated issues.
• Train, coach, and develop employees.
• Perform cash management and opening/closing duties as needed.
• Assign tasks to the team and ensure store safety and cleanliness.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards.
• Responsible for hiring and performance management.
