The Team Lead in the Restaurant will contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by providing friendly, timely and efficient delivery of food & beverages to guests. This position will also be responsible for leading and motivating the team and contributing to a positive work environment while maintaining high customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and seats guests, takes food & beverage orders, provides menu suggestions, up-sells menu items, promotes and communicates food & beverage specials to guests
  • Settles check with guests, receives and processes payment in compliance with Coast’s cash handling policies and procedures
  • Balances all monies and charges at the end of every shift and completes deposit procedures in accordance with Coast Hotels cash handling protocol
  • Ensures all Restaurant opening and closing duties are performed according to established policies
  • Ensures all duties assigned to the team are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationship and communication with the team
  • Maintains product knowledge of all food and beverage items
  • Maintains Restaurant's high cleanliness standards
  • Ensures presentation of all food meets Coast’s standards for freshness, appearance and consistency
  • Is committed to maintaining high customer service standards
  • Is committed to working safely, including adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene
  • Supports the Room Service Department
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position
  • Successful completion of high school education
  • Serving It Right certificate required
  • Hepatitis A vaccination recommended
  • Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment
  • Demonstrated superior customer service philosophy
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Exemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays
