Job summary

Niagara Casinos is hiring a Restaurant Server on a fixed-term contract to provide friendly, professional service in a fast-paced, high-volume setting at Casino Niagara and Fallsview properties.

The ideal candidate has 6–12 months serving experience in food & beverage, Smart Serve certification, and excellent guest service and communication skills. You will assist with seating, order-taking, wine recommendations, and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months serving experience in a high-volume food & beverage outlet.
• Smart Serve certification required.
• Exceptional guest service skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of local and international wines, spirits, beers, and premium food products.

Responsibilities

• Take guest orders, relay details of food prep, and provide wine, beer and cocktail recommendations.
• Assist in duties such as food running, bussing, seating guests and processing Momentum offers.
• Serve and deliver food and drinks in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ensure guests receive the highest level of service and escalate concerns to management when needed.
• Clean and reset tables to maintain smooth service flow.
• Work as a team under high-pressure conditions during peak times.

The job involves:

Taking guest orders, communicating details of food preparation techniques, providing information about wine, beer and cocktail lists and promoting suitable meal/drink pairings Assisting in various restaurant duties such as food running, bussing, seating guests and processing Momentum offers. Serving and delivering food/drinks in a friendly and professional manner Ensuring guests are provided with the highest level of service and making decisions pertaining to the betterment of the guest’s experience escalating unresolved concerns to management as appropriate Cleaning and resetting tables for guests to maintain service flow of the restaurant Working as one team under stressful conditions during high volume business levels Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
