Job summary

Sooke Harbour House in British Columbia seeks an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house team across dining room, lounge, and private events. You will coach staff, uphold luxury service standards, and collaborate with culinary colleagues to execute seasonal menus and wine experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, this role emphasizes guest satisfaction, staff development, labour efficiency, POS accuracy, and a positive, high-performing team culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive restaurant leadership.
  • Experience in upscale or fine dining preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and luxury guest service.
  • Experience with scheduling, labour management, and inventory controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
  • Serving It Right certification (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop the front-of-house team.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Maintain service standards consistent with a luxury boutique hotel environment.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to execute seasonal menus, tasting experiences, wine dinners, and special events.
  • Monitor labour costs and scheduling to meet productivity goals.
  • Oversee POS procedures, cash handling, daily reporting, and shift reconciliation.
  • Support inventory management, ordering, and beverage controls.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally while creating memorable service recoveries.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high‑performing team culture.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house team while delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the dining room, lounge, patio, private dining, and special events. This role provides hands‑on leadership by coaching and developing the service team, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, and ensuring efficient restaurant operations.

The successful candidate is an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for fine dining, guest service, and team development.
