Job summary

Mary Brown's Chicken in a rural Ontario restaurant seeks a hands-on manager to oversee daily operations, budgeting, and staff performance. You will lead, train, and schedule a team, while ensuring health and safety and delivering excellent customer service. Strong cost control and supplier negotiations are required.

You will balance cash, monitor revenues, and participate in marketing plans to grow profits and maintain high standards across service levels.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or certificate in restaurant management or related field.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years experience in restaurant management.
  • Valid Smart Serve and Safe Food Handling certificates.
  • Experience in budget planning and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze budget to boost and maintain profits.
  • Develop budget for food, ingredients, alcohol, supplies.
  • Evaluate daily operations and adjust as needed.
  • Monitor revenues to determine labour cost.
  • Plan and organize daily operations and schedules.
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff; set work schedules.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and clients for catering.
  • Balance cash, prepare reports, and manage inventory.
