Job summary

Calgary Sports and Entertainment is seeking a General Manager for our Scotia Place restaurant. The role oversees front-of-house leadership, staffing, training, and community engagement to deliver outstanding hospitality and financial performance.

You will establish service standards, manage daily operations, and drive inventory control and cost management, while fostering a positive, people-first culture that elevates guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management experience, including multi-department leadership responsibilities.
• Proven success in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, inventory management, labour planning, and cost controls.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build a positive workplace culture and strong community relationships.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
• Food safety certification and applicable industry certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Front-of-House staff recruitment, training and development.
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching and performance management across teams.
• Develop succession plans and nurture future leaders.
• Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, quality and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health regulations, and labour laws.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and facility standards.
• Monitor inventory and costs, drive profitability while maintaining guest satisfaction.
• Manage labour costs and revenue targets; review financial KPIs and budgets.
