Job summary

A&W in Sydney, NS is hiring a Restaurant assistant manager. This full-time permanent role requires self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to start immediately. Salary ranges from $13.90 to $15.40 CAD per hour for approx.

30 hours per week, with potential for up to 40 hours. Duties include daily operations, finance, inventory, staff management, and customer service. Experience of 1–2 years in a related field is preferred; English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• No standard education requirement.
• 1–2 years of related industry experience.
• Ability to supervise more than 20 people.
• First Aid, WHMIS, CPR and Food Safety certificates are required.
• Be accurate, client focused, dependable and a good team player.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organised and flexible in nature.
• Reliable and eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct, control and evaluate daily operations.
• Balance cash, complete balance sheets and cash reports.
• Conduct performance evaluations.
• Price goods and services.
• Enforce provincial liquor laws and regulations.
• Organise and keep inventory.
• Monitor revenues and adjust procedures and prices as needed.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• Participate in marketing plans and implementation.
• Create staff work schedules and monitor performance.
• Respond to customer complaints and provide exceptional service.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff.
