In this role, you’ll be at the centre of field operations based on the Syncrude site, coordinating schedules and resources across the region to help keep operations organized, efficient and ready to respond to changing demands.

If you’re highly organized, comfortable working with field and operations teams, enjoy improving processes and finding more efficient ways to manage information, this could be the role for you! You’ll use your Excel skills and problem-solving mindset to help streamline processes and improve efficiency, while playing a key role in coordinating schedules and resources day to day.

What We Offer

  • Competitive wages, excellent benefits and matching pension contributions starting on your first day!
  • Collaborative team environment with opportunities to work with multiple service lines
  • Variety: Changing work scopes from one day to the next – there is always a new challenge

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain personnel schedules across multiple sites and service lines, balancing client requirements, skills, training and resource availability
  • Optimize schedules and resource utilization by filling available hours, adjusting shifts and reducing non-billable time
  • Work with Operations and field teams to communicate schedule requirements and publish weekly schedules
  • Support turnaround and project activities by coordinating resource schedules and allocations, including work in other regions and service lines
  • Track schedule variances, including sick time, vacation, suspensions and leaves, and coordinate return-to-work requirements in line with company policies
  • Coordinate new hire site readiness, including first-day requirements, site and shift schedules, training and badge activation
  • Support Operational Leads with specialized team assignments, progression plans and training requirements based on skills, qualifications, schedules and availability
  • Coordinate camp, accommodations and flights, and facilitate client reporting requirements such as DFR and committed equipment availability

Role Specifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in a coordinator role with direct communication to field resources and operational leaders is required
  • 1-3 years of experience maintaining a year-round and/or project-based workforce schedule is preferred
  • Previous experience in the oil & gas industry and/or a people-based service environment is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills for managing and analyzing large data sets, creating formulas and pivot tables, and developing tracking and reporting tools

Personal Characteristics

  • Problem‑solving comes naturally — you can spot a gap in the schedule, assess the options and find a solution before it becomes an operational issue
  • Organization is your strength — you can manage competing priorities, keep information accurate and stay on top of a constantly changing schedule
  • Communication is key to your approach — you’re comfortable connecting with field employees, Operational Leads and support teams and know how to get the information you need, even when people aren’t always at a desk
  • You’re adaptable and accountable — when priorities change, you can adjust quickly while staying focused on safety, compliance and following through on commitments
