Job summary

CEDA is seeking Class 1 or 3 Driver/Operators for our Pressure & Vacuum division at our Fort McMurray, AB location. Travel and accommodation are not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or 3 license with low demerits in last 3 years.
• CSO certification is required.
• Experience with vacuum trucks is an asset.
• Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications are assets, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Vacuum trucks, High Pressure Water equipment, and specialty tools.
• 90% of the day spent outside the truck, boots on the ground.
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters.
• Climb into vessels and tanks with cleaning equipment.
• Ensure safety for all team members and property.
• Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs.

Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking Class 1 or 3 Driver/Operators for our Pressure & Vacuum division at our Fort McMurray, AB location! Travel and accommodation are not offered for this position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Work alongside Labourers operating and maintaining Vacuum trucks, High Pressure Water equipment and various specialty tools
• 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labour intensive capacity
• Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
• Ensure safety for all team members and property
• Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
• Work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
• Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
• Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
• Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 license with no more than 5 demerits in last 3 years is required
• Driving manual transmissions (10, 13 or 18 speed) is required, must be able to pass a CEDA’s driver assessment.
• Prior experience driving a Vacuum Truck is an asset.
• 1+ years of operator experience in an industrial environment
• CSO certification required
• Confined Space and Fall Protection certification an asset but not required, we will train you!
• Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and very good with a manual transmission
• You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
• Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
