Job summary

The Salvation Army in Vancouver seeks a Residential Support Worker (Casual/On-Call) to assist Grace Mansion residents with personal development, life skills, and social activities under program supervision.

Requires high school diploma, First Aid/CPR, and crisis intervention training; fluent English and strong ethics are essential. Casual/on-call shifts with wage range of CAD 21.28–31.92 per hour; benefits available.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma.
• Current Certification in First Aid/CPR.
• Training in Addictions and/or Mental Health issues or willingness to be trained.
• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or willingness to be trained.
• WHMIS Certification in FOODSAFE Level 1 or willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone and refer calls to the appropriate person(s).
• Admit visitors to the Centre according to guidelines and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with intake, waitlist updates and resident departures.
• May receive residents’ rent and place funds in the designated lockbox.
• Supervise and monitor Residents during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate with government and community agencies for resources.
• Respond to emergencies and assist residents in crises.
