Job summary

The Salvation Army in Vancouver is seeking a Transitional Housing Intake & Caseworker for Grace Mansion. You will support residents with personal development, life skills, and social activities to help them achieve their potential.

Responsibilities include intake, case management, and administrative duties, plus coordinating with medical, educational and community resources. Maintain confidential records and participate in staff meetings to ensure safety and program quality.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of two academic years.
• Training/Certification in Addictions and/or Mental Health issues.
• Current Certification in First Aid/CPR.
• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, or willingness to be trained.
• WHMIS 2015 Certification in FOODSAFE Level 1 Universal precautions
• Criminal Record Review Act clearance to work with vulnerable adults
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• An alternative combination of education and experience might be considered.

Responsibilities

• Intake: Monitor resident occupancy; conduct intake, reference checks, create files, review rules and waitlist.
• Casework: Provide hands-on training, coaching and support; complete initial needs assessment within 10 days; coordinate services and develop PDP; monitor progress.
• Admin/Community: Supervise residents, handle inquiries, admit visitors, manage rent funds; liaise with government and agencies; participate in staff meetings and emergencies.
