Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal) to become a Resident Technician in the Quesnel area. You will troubleshoot, maintain and repair Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment in a field setting, including ultra-class machines.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification is required.
• Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract is required.
• Dedication to safety is essential.
• Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision.
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems is required.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line is an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience is an asset.
• Power generation experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs (remote locations possible).
• Interface with customers, products and sales support.
• Collaborate with Supervisor on various tasks.
• Support on-site safety requirements.

Job Description

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs (possibility of remote locations)

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification

Important Notes

• This position will work a Monday to Friday day shift
• Shift work may be required in the future
• A recent driver’s abstract is required
