Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Health Care Aide to support residents with daily living activities and holistic care needs in a senior living setting. You will work under supervision to uphold dignity, safety, and comfort, aligning with person-centered care principles.

In this role you will assist with mobility, personal care, dining, and recreation, while following care plans, documenting observations, and collaborating with nursing staff. A supportive team environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Current registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Medication Administration course and annual recertification required.
• CPR and First Aid certification continuously active.
• Food Safe certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
• Support move ins/outs, palliative care and end-of-life care with dignity.
• Develop and follow resident care or service plans.
• Document observations, report changes to the Director of Care or designate.
• Respond to call bells promptly and maintain safety.
• Assist with dining duties and feeding as needed.
• Support recreation and social activities with residents.
• Ensure nutrition and hydration according to diet plans and coordinate with nurses/dietitians.
