Job summary

Mon Sheong Foundation in Canada is seeking a Director of Nursing/Resident Care to lead nursing and personal care services within the New Long Term Care Centre. You will ensure high-quality resident care, compliance with regulations, and budget balance while guiding clinical programs and staff performance.

The role requires RN licensure, leadership experience in long-term care, and strong communication skills. Multilingual abilities are advantageous; Cantonese/Mandarin help in resident relations.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a current certificate of competence from College of Nurses of Ontario.
• CPR (Health Care Provider Level C) and First Aid certificates.
• Post-RN education in nursing administration and management; preference for BScN and/or health management; gerontology/geriatrics/rehabilitation focus.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in long-term care.
• At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity in health care.
• Fluent English; Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, organize, and manage nursing and personal care services within the Home.
• Oversee clinical programs: falls prevention, wound care, continence, pain and behavior.
• Handle HR matters for nursing staff: recruitment, orientation, performance management.
• Train, coach, and develop improvement plans for staff.
• Participate in CARF Accreditation process.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community.
• Monitor staffing and financial performance to sustain a balanced budget.
