Job summary

Responsive Group Inc. is seeking a Director of Care – Administrative in Ontario to lead the resident care team in alignment with legislative standards. The role reports to the Executive Director and drives quality, safety, and efficient operation of the nursing department.

The candidate will manage human, material, and fiscal resources, develop resident-focused programs, monitor care quality, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a compassionate, team-based culture across the home.

Qualifications

• :Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• :Ministerial/Licensing knowledge of MLTC and Ontario Regulation 246/22
• :Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in healthcare
• :Experience in long-term care settings preferred
• :Ability to provide person-centred care and maintain patient rights
• :Vaccination records and TB testing as required by policy
• :Two supervisory references required
• :Ability to work with union collective agreements and maintain documentation

Responsibilities

• Provides direction to the nursing team and acts as In Charge when the Executive Director is unavailable
• Manages HR for the Nursing Department and oversees budgeting and supply ordering
• Ensures compliance with MLTC, Ontario regulations, and relevant safety standards
• Develops policies and procedures aligned with resident care practices and regulatory requirements
• Monitors quality of nursing services and implements long-term strategic plans
• Ensures incident reporting and risk management processes are followed
• Participates in on-call rotations and supports staff development
• Maintains resident health records and documents personnel records
