Job summary

Extendicare Maple View Home in Sault Ste. Marie, ON seeks an Assistant Director of Care to lead nursing operations and mentor staff in resident-centred care. You will support the DOC in implementing quality initiatives, risk management, data reporting, and staff development.

Ideal candidates bring RN registration with CNO, 3+ years in long-term care, and knowledge of RAI‑MDS, with a focus on infection control and continuous improvement across shifts.

Qualifications

• RN with CNO registration required; BScN considered an asset.
• Minimum three years of long-term care experience; management exposure a plus.
• Knowledge of RAI-MDS and current geriatric clinical issues.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DOC in implementing and evaluating quality initiatives and risk management.
• Lead coordination of best practices to enhance resident care and safety.
• Oversee staffing needs, supplies, and program planning at the unit level.
• Support palliative care goals and input to performance appraisals.
• Work weekends on a monthly rotation and mentor staff.
