University of Victoria seeks an Associate Director, Residence Life (ADRL) to lead a large Residence Life program, shaping community life and student development on campus. You will guide strategy, staffing, and services to support learning, belonging, and student success.

The ADRL will steward a $4.5M+ budget, supervise 125+ staff, and partner with various departments to respond to crises and promote a vibrant living-learning environment for UVic students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., student affairs, higher education, social work, educational counselling or psychology, or public administration).
• 7–10 years of experience in higher education (student housing and community life, student affairs, ancillary services).
• Progressive leadership experience managing people and teams in a unionized environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop a 125+ staff team across community life, education, student support, and conduct.
• Oversee strategic planning, program development, and assessment of Residence Life to support student success.
• Foster partnerships across departments, staff, and community partners for crisis response and student care.
• Manage departmental budgets and on-call crisis and incident response within Residence Services.
