Job summary

University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) is seeking a Student Housing Assistant for the Residence. You will support the Residence Office, assist students, and help plan events while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Under Housing Services, you will engage with students, collect data, and collaborate with the Student Success Office. Weekend/evening shifts are required; two-term commitment preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a student within the University of Niagara Falls Canada during the entire duration of the contract.
• Preferred that at start date, student has completed one term.
• Student is not currently or approaching a capstone project or an internship as part of their program of study. Must be available for the full 2 Terms duration of the student contract role.
• Student has not exceeded the maximum of a six (6)-month term in any one department, coupled with a minimum of a three (3) month break in employment from UNF
• Preference for cumulative average of 70%.
• Must be available for a minimum of 1 shift per week. Must be available for evening and weekend work, as scheduled.
• Experience in a customer service role is required.
• Experience in student services is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support at the Residence Office, including wayfinding and referrals.
• Continuously collect and record data while maintaining confidentiality.
• Distribute Student Success Office materials, posters and brochures.
• Perform small cleaning duties in communal spaces.
• Plan and facilitate social events for students in residence.
• Collaborate with Student Success Office to provide integrated services.
• Be available for some evening and weekend work.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support UNF.
