Job summary

Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Thermal Projects to lead planning, execution and delivery of complex thermal generation projects across Canada. The role oversees projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and transition to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer designation preferred; PM designation an asset.
• At least 7 years delivering complex industrial, power or major thermal projects.
• Experience with gas-fired generation or heavy industrial facilities preferred.
• Experience managing major capital projects with high technical, safety and operational complexity.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost forecasting, procurement and contracting.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
• Strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills; risk management capability.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, executives and stakeholders; travel within Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal generation capital projects, including turbine and balance-of-plant work and reliability initiatives.
• Establish scope, schedule, budget, governance and performance measures.
• Ensure safe, on-time delivery within budgets and in compliance with requirements.
• Lead procurement strategies and commercial negotiations for services and equipment.
• Oversee contractor performance, contracts, change orders and risk management.
• Coordinate project work at operating assets with operations and maintenance teams.
• Provide project leadership for outages and major maintenance events.
• Ensure designs support long-term reliability, operability and plant performance.
• Provide reports, forecasts and risk assessments to senior leadership.
• Build relationships with regulators, utilities, communities and partners; mentor project teams.
