Job summary

Cerence Inc. is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect for Manufacturing & Industrial Automation. You will engage senior technical decision-makers across the manufacturing ecosystem and own the technical core of opportunities, designing how voice AI runs on customer hardware and edge platforms.

You will lead evaluations, PoCs, and proofs of value, work with sales and product, and shape the product with real customer integration requirements. Remote in North America with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software, Industrial/Automation/Controls Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in solutions or sales engineering, technical pre‑sales, systems integration, or hands‑on development, including customer‑facing technical ownership of evaluations and PoCs.
• Hands‑on understanding of the manufacturing and industrial automation stack (OT/controls, MES/MOM, ERP/PLM/EAM/CMMS, WMS), and of hybrid edge/cloud architectures, on‑device and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical core of opportunities and clear roadblocks to move deals.
• Translate field learnings into sales, delivery, and product strategy.
• Lead technical evaluations, PoCs, and proof‑of‑value engagements from discovery to onboarding.
• Collaborate with sales, product, and professional services across the engagement lifecycle.
