Job summary

Blacksmith Agency, a remote agency serving US clients, is seeking a COO who will run the company day to day from a leadership seat. The role requires deep sales leadership, experience leading agency teams, and a proven ability to drive revenue, margins and client negotiations while aligning recruiting, delivery and marketing.

You will own four department leads, establish weekly rhythm and quarterly priorities, and be accountable for profit.

Qualifications

• Experience with quota-driven sales leadership in agencies or similar service businesses.
• Background in digital/marketing/creative agencies preferred; SaaS or professional services also acceptable.
• Proven track record of scaling teams and profit, not just revenue.
• Strong negotiation and client contract skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead four department heads and drive quarterly priorities and performance reviews.
• Define the weekly meeting rhythm and decide what to cut when priorities collide.
• Direct profit focus, margins on delivery, and strategic hiring decisions.
• Lead commercial conversations: client contracts, vendor terms, and negotiation boundaries.
• Develop operators into leaders who can execute without heavy supervision.
• Make day-to-day decisions alongside the founder to drive growth and profitability.
