Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Lead Construction Estimator to head our estimating function for projects in the Kimberley region and beyond, working fully remotely. This senior role demands strong cost analysis, bid strategy, and the ability to lead a team from a distance.

You will review plans, develop detailed cost estimates, mentor estimators, and collaborate with project managers and procurement to ensure competitive, profitable bids. Remote work enables flexibility and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in construction estimating; at least 2 years in lead or supervisory role.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, specifications and construction documents.
• Proficient with estimating software BuildSoft, CostX and Excel; strong grasp of construction methods.
• Demonstrated ability to lead remote estimation teams and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for a range of construction projects from conception to tender.
• Review plans and specs to identify scope and estimation elements.
• Analyze historical cost data and market trends for competitive estimates.
• Develop and manage the estimating team with guidance and oversight.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and procurement to refine estimates and find cost-saving opportunities.
• Present and defend estimates to senior management and clients as required.
