Job summary

Vantage Analytics is seeking a Staff Engineer to shape the technical strategy across multiple teams while remaining hands-on in code and architecture. You will drive a multi-quarter roadmap, coordinate with leadership, and remove cross-team blockers to ensure on-time delivery.

You will mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and establish observability standards across the stack (frontend to data). This role emphasizes long-term sustainability alongside quarterly delivery goals.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional experience in software development, testing, design, and architecture.
• Deep knowledge of frontend, backend, infrastructure and data; understanding cross-layer implications.
• Experience owning multi-quarter roadmaps across teams with leadership buy-in.
• Experience managing technical debt as a program of work with roadmap integration.
• Experience designing and operating B2B API integrations (auth, rate limiting, retries, idempotency, versioning).
• Mentoring senior engineers beyond code reviews and architectural thinking.
• Experience with CI tooling, Docker, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience evaluating developer tooling and AI-assisted development tools with risk awareness.
• Deep Python and Django experience building production services
• A CS degree or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of multiple significant technical initiatives in parallel, hands-on in code and architecture.
• Provide technical direction balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability across teams.
• Own technical debt management and coordinate with leadership and Product for quarterly prioritization.
• Run Architecture Office Hours and internal talks to align teams with the technical roadmap.
• Mentor engineers across the department and foster growth opportunities.
• Act as a quality gatekeeper through code reviews and testing strategies.
