Job summary

Firm Five, a Canada-based bookkeeping and fractional controllership firm, is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage multiple clients, record transactions, reconcile statements, and assist with payroll. You will support budgeting and financial planning and contribute to accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in accounting, demonstrates strong Excel skills, and is proficient in QuickBooks Online and Xero.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar financial role at an accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency with cloud accounting. QBO is essential & XERO is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Highly skilled in advanced Excel functions

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, track payments and receivables, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure the ledger is up to date.
• Assist in processing payroll, ensuring correct deductions and timely payments.
• Reconcile bank statements monthly to ensure consistency with the ledger.
• Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and internal policies.
• Monitor and categorize company expenses accurately for budgeting and tax preparation.
