Qualifications

  • Professional bookkeeping experience required.
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable and reconciliations.
  • Experience with Stripe is a plus.
  • Real estate industry experience not required, but an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and process invoices.
  • Process and track expenses.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Record deposits and financial transactions.
  • Process payments and cheques.
  • Manage and reconcile credit card statements.
  • Process HST/GST bookkeeping and documentation.
  • Support payroll-related bookkeeping.
  • Prepare information for year-end accounting.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
  • Work with Microsoft Office and Stripe.
  • Assist with commission and payment tracking.
  • Identify discrepancies and investigate and follow up.
  • Provide general bookkeeping support as required.

Job description

This is an opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and can proactively identify and address issues rather than simply completing assigned tasks.

The position is in-office and part-time, approximately 20 hours per week over 3 days, with the potential to grow into a full-time permanent position.

The Role

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate and organized financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the business. The successful candidate may work across multiple related companies and should be comfortable managing different sets of records and financial information.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Preparing and processing invoices.
  • Processing and tracking expenses.
  • Completing bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Recording deposits and financial transactions.
  • Processing payments and cheques.
  • Managing and reconciling credit card statements.
  • Processing HST/GST-related bookkeeping and documentation.
  • Supporting payroll-related bookkeeping.
  • Preparing information and records for year-end accounting.
  • Maintaining organized and accurate financial records.
  • Working with Microsoft Office and financial platforms, including Stripe.
  • Assisting with commission and payment tracking where required.
  • Identifying discrepancies, errors, or unusual transactions and following up appropriately.
  • Providing general bookkeeping and financial administrative support as required.

We are looking for an intermediate-level bookkeeper with solid hands-on experience and the confidence to work independently.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Professional and comfortable working in a friendly manner with others.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Previous professional bookkeeping experience is required.
  • Intermediate-level bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable and collection.
  • Experience with reconciliations and maintaining financial records.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with Stripe is an asset.
  • An accounting designation or CPA designation is not required, but an asset.
  • Real estate industry experience is not required, but an asset.
  • Experience with online banking and setting up online banking systems.
