Job summary

Jobgether in Canada is seeking an AI Tooling Engineer to build and scale an internal agentic platform that unifies knowledge, data, and tools in a secure environment. You will own the full development lifecycle, deploy production-ready AI agents, and optimize performance and costs across the org.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineer with production AI agents experience.
• 3+ years building and shipping production software (Python + databases).
• Experience deploying production AI agents with LangGraph for real users.
• Knowledge of tool calling, retrieval/embeddings, prompts, context design.
• Experience with LLM APIs, token management, and cost optimization.
• Familiar with MCP or similar tool protocols (server and client).
• Knowledge of AI evaluation, datasets, regression testing, monitoring.
• Experience with Langfuse or comparable observability tools.
• Experience integrating APIs and data sources (SaaS, SQL, data warehouses).
• Cloud experience (GCP/AWS), containers, IAM, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong security, identity management, and least-privilege controls.
• Version control with GitHub (or Bitbucket) and collaborative workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English, clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Principal Engineer to design, develop, and deploy new platform capabilities from design to production.
• Integrate internal systems and SaaS apps via APIs and shared data models with proper access control.
• Build AI agents and MCP servers enabling agents to interact with internal systems.
• Design retrieval workflows, tool calling, embeddings, prompts, and context management.
• Establish AI quality standards with evaluation datasets, benchmarks, and testing.
• Monitor cost per answer and token usage; optimize models, prompts, and workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement improvements from user feedback.
• Turn proofs of concept into secure, scalable cloud applications with robust infrastructure.
• Use AI coding agents in development while upholding code quality and reviews.
• Contribute to company-wide AI tooling initiatives and standardization efforts.
• Support other teams in adopting and building on the platform.
