Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary full-time evening position. You will provide nursing care in accordance with resident care plans, physician orders, and scopes of practice, supporting residents in a home-like community.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will supervise care delivery, mentor staff, and communicate with residents and families to ensure comfort, dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, resident plan of care, and scope of practice.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care per standards of practice.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment for residents through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and families, and guide staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, with ongoing resident assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
