Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Toronto is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for an unscheduled part-time role. You will provide nursing care per policy, support residents and families, and collaborate with the care team.

You must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses, bring geriatrics experience, and be eligible to work in Canada. Sienna offers a competitive rate, benefits, SOAR, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• RPN in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident plan of care, within the RPN/LPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound nursing principles.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication.
• Oversee resident care with regular updates to residents and families, and guidance to staff.
• Supervise PSWs/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Manage admissions, readmissions, and status changes with ongoing resident assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
