Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Brantford, ON seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for Oakwood Commons Community. You will provide nursing care according to resident plans and maintain high standards of personal care.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will supervise PSWs, perform admissions/readmissions, and communicate with residents and families. Rotation: Fri, Tue, Sat, Sun biweekly.

Qualifications

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation and/or senior health.
• Good judgement and ability to identify risk while fostering a positive work environment.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, and the resident plan of care.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including communication with residents and families, and guidance to staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members.
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, with ongoing resident assessments.

Rate of Pay $33.45 - $35.07 (As per Collective Agreement)

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
