Job summary

Trillium Community and Retirement Living in Kingston, ON, part of Sienna Senior Living, is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse for evening shifts on a permanent part-time basis. You will provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, and the resident plan of care, delivering compassionate, resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is beneficial.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada or valid work permit required.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check for the appropriate province.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, and the resident plan of care within RPN/LPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound practice principles.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and clear communication with staff and residents' families.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff on care plans.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Attend to admissions, readmissions, status changes, and ongoing resident assessments.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
