Job summary

The Royal seeks a Resource Team Registered Practical Nurse to float to various hospital units as needed, delivering nursing care within the RPN scope and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Must be a Graduate of a Practical Nursing program with current Ontario registration and CPR/AED certification. English language ability is required; bilingualism is an asset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
• Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
• CPR/AED Certification within the last 2 years.
• Completion of Prevention of Violence in the Workplace training (C.P.I.) required.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Technical skills such as glucometer reading, vital signs, injection skills, physical assessment/mental health assessment, catheterization, medication administration, O2 administration, basic wound care, suctioning, safe patient handling, bladder scanning, ECT recovery, skin care and feeding
• Ability to develop therapeutic relations with patients
• Ability to function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team
• Basic computer skills required
