Job summary

ROYAL OTTAWA HEALTH CARE GROUP is seeking a qualified nurse to support adults aged 18-64 with complex schizophrenia-related conditions requiring intensive support. Referrals from healthcare providers are required and you will work within an inter-disciplinary team to promote recovery and safe reintegration into the community.

The role emphasizes therapeutic relationships, ongoing professional development, and adherence to CNO standards. English proficiency is required; bilingual asset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
• Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
• CPR/AED Certification within the last 2 years.
• Completion of Prevention of Violence in the Workplace training (C.P.I.) required.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Technical skills including glucometer readings, vital signs, injections, and basic wound care.
• Suctioning, safe patient handling, bladder scanning, ECT recovery, skin care and feeding
• Ability to develop therapeutic relations with patients
• Ability to function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team

About the Program
