Job summary

Sienna Senior Living’s Barnswallow Place Care Community in Elmira is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Care, you will contribute to resident care in line with policies and physician orders, within the RPN scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff and residents.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and provide guidance to staff.
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents.

What You’ll Be Doing

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
