Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse for Oakwood Commons Community in Brantford, ON. The role reports to the Director of Care and focuses on delivering high-quality nursing and personal care to residents.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement and ability to identify risk; fosters a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, and the resident plan of care within the RPN/LPN scope of practice.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care through sound nursing practice.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment for residents via teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Manage admissions, readmissions, and changes in status with ongoing resident assessment.

Rotation: Friday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday (biweekly)

Rate of Pay $33.45 - $35.07 (As per Collective Agreement)

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
