Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a permanent full-time days role at Trillium Community and Retirement Living, Kingston, ON. This role focuses on compassionate care and building relationships with residents who consider Sienna their home.

You will provide nursing care per resident plans, supervise a care team, and support residents and families. Competitive salary, benefits, and growth opportunities are offered under the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement, risk awareness, and ability to foster a positive work environment.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident plan of care.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound nursing practices.
• Create a welcoming and supportive environment for residents through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
• Admission, readmission, changes in status, and ongoing assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
