Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Richmond Hill is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Langstaff Square Community to provide nursing care in line with the resident plan of care. The role reports to the Director of Care and supports residents with dignity and daily comfort.

You will work with a team to ensure excellent care, supervise support staff, and handle admissions and ongoing assessments while upholding the organization’s compassionate values.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician orders and resident plan of care.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care following sound nursing principles.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers and Unregulated team members.
• Manage admissions, readmissions and status changes with ongoing resident assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.


• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care


• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff


• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff


• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit


• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses


• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry


• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment


• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
