Job summary

Sienna Senior Living's Barnswallow Place Care Community in Elmira, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our team and deliver compassionate, resident-centered care. You will work under the Director of Care to uphold the highest standards of comfort, dignity and safety for residents.

Qualifications

• Licensed RPN in Ontario
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health
• Able to communicate effectively with residents and families
• Capable of supervising care staff and coordinating care

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, orders, and resident care plans.
• Deliver high-quality nursing and personal care with sound practice.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents' families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers and unregulated staff on the unit.
• Assess residents during admission, readmission, and status changes.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
