Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Brantford, ON seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for our Oakwood Commons Community. You will provide nursing care aligned with residents' plans, collaborate with physicians, families, and staff, and help maintain a compassionate home-like environment.

You must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses, with geriatric care experience preferred. The role requires eligibility to work in Canada and a biweekly rotation pattern.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, orders, plan of care and scope of practice.
• Ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care using sound practices.
• Create a welcoming environment for residents through teamwork and communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care with regular communication with residents and families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Admission, readmission and status changes with ongoing resident assessment.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
