Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Bradford, Ontario, is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse for a part-time day position (30 hours). The role supports residents with comprehensive nursing care, within the resident plan of care and physician orders.

You’ll work with a team to ensure compassionate, high-quality daily living and communication with families. Applicants must be licensed in Ontario as an RPN, with geriatrics experience preferred, and must be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement and ability to foster a positive work environment.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or hold a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders and the resident plan of care.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound practice.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication.
• Oversee resident care and provide guidance to staff and families.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/unregulated team members on the unit.
• Admission, readmission and status changes with ongoing resident assessment.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
