Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Brampton, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temp, part-time night shift at Maple Grove Community. You will provide nursing care per policy and residents' care plans, while working within the RPN scope of practice.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will lead by example, support Personal Support Workers, and collaborate with families to ensure comfort, dignity, and respect for residents.

Qualifications

• Licensed RPN in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or hold a valid work permit.
• Willing to pass Vulnerable Sector Check / Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy and resident plan of care within RPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound practice.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents, families, and staff.
• Supervise PSWs/Unregulated staff on the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and status changes with ongoing assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
