Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary full-time days role at Woods Park Community and Retirement. The position offers a competitive hourly rate between $33.24 and $34.78 per hour, as per the Collective Agreement.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will provide nursing care per plans, supervise care staff, communicate with residents and families, and ensure a warm, safe environment across the unit.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, orders and the resident plan of care.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound nursing practice.
• Create a welcoming environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
• Manage admissions, readmissions, and changes in status with ongoing assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
